Mother's Day

My Mother's Day didn't start until 10am when I opened my lazy eyes and looked around. Ahhhhh. That alone would pretty much have made my week. What followed made this mother's day one for the books. When I dragged myself out of bed, I would see two new hanging baskets of flowers on the balcony. So pretty! One purple and one yellow and both huge. Well done, Jones!
Downstairs there was coffee and bacon. Was I dead? Was this heaven? Probably.
Then, I opened Amy's present while Rob made his famous breakfast scramble. Amy got me fishing stuff! I got a tackle box, line, weights, bobbers, stinky bait jars, hooks, a lure, and a promise to go to the lake to try it all out. Yay!

Not just any lake, THIS beautiful lake! This is the reservoir just outside of town. Not too bad, huh? It was full of swimmers and boats, but it was also full of trout!

Amy also got a new rod with a practice fish-shaped weight to help her cast. She learned to reel in her line and darn if she didn't catch that rubber fish every single time!

Mommy wasn't quite as lucky. I got lots of nibbles and they ate all my bait, but I couldn't bring anybody in. Maybe my hooks need to be sharpened. Maybe Boise fish are wise.

This is the drive back home. I just love it here. I am a lucky mom and I'm lucky to have Rob to spoil me.

Botanical Garden/Penitentiary

Weirdest title over? Weirdest combo ever, but it exists in Boise. There is a very cool old Idaho State Penitentiary on the east side of town. It's closed, but still standing. There are guard towers and a big wall and everything. Well, outside the jail on the grounds is the old baseball field where the prisoners would play against other prison teams. They call it outlaw field and there are lots of concerts and events there in the summertime. Also on the grounds are the Boise Botanical Gardens.
not my picture.
Last week they opened the gardens for free and had a roundup of food trucks and some live bands. As Rob says, "It's two of my favorite things, food and trucks!" So we went down there and met Dan and Allison.
The food trucks were good. I got barbecue at a place called St. Lawrence's Gridiron. Ha!
We also tried some poutine. It had gorgonzola instead of cheese curds, but still. It was poutine. We're practically Canadian.
We got one small order and split it between 5 people.
This is how you feel when you eat poutine. Your body hates you. Your mouth loves you.
Rob got tacos because that is what he does.
There was a beer truck with taps on the side, but they gave us canned beer. They were from Boise and they were delicious.

Mr. Conductor ate grass. He was in it for the music and the gardens.

Amy and Mr. Conductor checked out this hollow log with another boy. Amy ran to this boy's mother and hugged her legs before realizing (with horror) that it was not me. Shorty.

Amy's first Slumber party

Amy and Mary Margaret had their very first sleepover two weeks ago. They were both extremely excited. Amy kept checking on what was going to happen, "You mean I get to stay at Mary's?? All night??!" Aunt Katie made it very special and the girls had a great time. They made bracelets, played with toys, watched a joke show performed by Liam, ate ice cream, and watched a movie-all before getting to sleep in sleeping bags together on the floor. It. Was. Awesome.

Here they are having their picnic dinner. Happy girls!

Epic tickle fight.

Snacks! And a movie!

All snuggly and nowhere near ready for sleep. Not until at least midnight.

TPGA

Ahh, Springtime in Georgia means just one thing. Golf. The stars of the ToddlerPGA were chauffeured to this year's Masters tournament in style.
Gotta hydrate and get in some carbs.
Everybody knows you've got to be quiet on the course. All cellphones go in the gravel.

The players walked the course, checking for bugs, making sure there weren't any interesting plants or pebbles to distract them.

Can somebody get the press away from us??
Ladies first. Ms. Jones tees off from the bird feeder. Ahh yes, she's chosen the purple club. Smart choice in these conditions.

Look at that grip!

Young Mr. May follows up with a blue putter. Whoa! What a swing this kid has! That ball must have gone at LEAST 6 inches!

I'm my own caddy.

 "Wanna hit the clubhouse?"
"Not yet, girl! we still have two more holes."

I bet they have sippy cups in the clubhouse.
 Watch and learn, Bubba Watson.

Game balls all around. Good job babies!

One for you, one for me.
