Botanical Garden/Penitentiary

Weirdest title over? Weirdest combo ever, but it exists in Boise. There is a very cool old Idaho State Penitentiary on the east side of town. It's closed, but still standing. There are guard towers and a big wall and everything. Well, outside the jail on the grounds is the old baseball field where the prisoners would play against other prison teams. They call it outlaw field and there are lots of concerts and events there in the summertime. Also on the grounds are the Boise Botanical Gardens.
not my picture.
Last week they opened the gardens for free and had a roundup of food trucks and some live bands. As Rob says, "It's two of my favorite things, food and trucks!" So we went down there and met Dan and Allison.
The food trucks were good. I got barbecue at a place called St. Lawrence's Gridiron. Ha!
We also tried some poutine. It had gorgonzola instead of cheese curds, but still. It was poutine. We're practically Canadian.
We got one small order and split it between 5 people.
This is how you feel when you eat poutine. Your body hates you. Your mouth loves you.
Rob got tacos because that is what he does.
There was a beer truck with taps on the side, but they gave us canned beer. They were from Boise and they were delicious.

Mr. Conductor ate grass. He was in it for the music and the gardens.

Amy and Mr. Conductor checked out this hollow log with another boy. Amy ran to this boy's mother and hugged her legs before realizing (with horror) that it was not me. Shorty.
